Welcome to Scouts BSA Troop 777 - Programs for both Girls and Boys (Northville, MI)

   

Located in Northville, MI since 1999, we average between 50-80 co-ed Scouts.  

Meeting every Tuesday night during the school year at 7:30 pm (PLC starts at 7:00 pm) in the First United Methodist Church gym on 8 Mile Rd.

We offer traditional Scouts BSA program units for girls and boys ages 10-17 and a co-ed Venturing program for youth 14-20.

Our youth also run advancement assistance programs for area Webelos I and II Den Leaders.

BSA Swim Test at Novi High School on Tuesday, April 16th from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm at Novi High School

This Tuesday, April 16th there will NOT be a regular troop meeting at FUMC. However, for those scouts and adults going to summer camp or other high adventure activity, there is a BSA swim test offering on Tuesday, April 16th from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm at Novi High School during their open swim. The BSA swimmers test will consist of a 100 yard swim followed by floating. We will have one lane reserved for our troop so that 2 swimmers can be tested at a time. Passing the BSA swim test is not required to attend summer camp but the individual will be limited to the water activities they can participate in.

New Scout Paperwork Turn-in Night

Welcome new 777 Scouts. 

Please plan to turn in your paperwork and registration fees to the front desk on Tuesday.   

Why is this so important?  We need your paperwork to register your youth (and you) with BSA in Troop 777.  Until then, we cannot record your youth's advancement.  Additionally, you wont have an account on our website, so you will not be on our weekly eblast nor have access to register for events.

Fees:

  • $  69.00 - Cub Scout Crossover
  • $    0.00 - Adult Registered Leader Crossover
  • $107.00 - New youth
  • $  38.33 - New Adult (Committee or SM)

777 says "good bye" to Ken Jacobsen, past 777 Chartered Org Rep

Ken Jacobsen was a long-time Scouter in Northville.  He passed his love for Scouting on to his Eagle Scout son, whom has also stayed engaged in Scouting.

Ken was a member of the FUMC Men's Club and was our Chartered Organized Representative until 2014.

Proir to that, Ken was very involved with Troop 755 and was responsible for the purchase of the 755 canoes that 777 uses frequently.

Ken passed away on Monday, March 25, 2019


Visitation:

   Thursday, April 11 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Casterline Funeral Home in Northville

Service:

   Friday, April 12 at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church of Northville

A luncheon will follow the service at the church.

Summer Camp 2019 - Cole Canoe Base

Summer Camp for 2019 is currently scheduled for July 7th through July 13th at Cole Canoe Base.  

Michigan Crossroads Council is looking for Summer Camp deposits ASAP of $150.  

For those interested in attending Summer Camp please submit a $150 deposit to the Front Desk ASAP - sorry for the short notice.

Fee structure is the following:

If paid in full by April 30th - cost is ~$345 ($355.35 via Paypal) (Youth)

If paid in full after April 30th - cost is ~$360 ($370.80 via Paypal) (Youth)

Adult / Leader - cost is $175 ($180.25 via Paypal) for the week or $35 per day

Webelos crossing over - cost is $345 ($355.35 via Paypal)

There will be a $25 Sibling Discount for the 2nd Scout attending Camp.

The program is fantastic and merit badge selections are the best in Michigan Crossroads Council.  

Please do not miss this Summer Camp for advancement opportunities, patrol method cooking, merit badges, solid First Year program and a ton of fun!

New Scout Parent Orientation

On March 26th we will hold a new parent orientation from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the church

We will discuss the following topics to ensure the new parents to Troop 777 become familiar with the way the Troop operates.
