Kitchenware donations for patrol boxes

Posted on Jun 3 2019 - 9:32pm

The troop is planning to build an extra patrol box or two in time for summer camp.  In an effort to be environmentally friendly and re-use and recycle, the troop will first accept donations of larger stock pots and fry pans (10-12 inch) that you may not want or use in your own home.  Please note all items must be in good condition-- no rust, excessive scratches, etc.  The troop will also accept large spatulas, stirring spoons, cutting knives, etc., again, in good condition.  You can drop any patrol box donation off at one of the last two troop meetings.  Thank you.

Court of Honor - Tuesday June 4th

Posted on Jun 1 2019 - 10:25pm

Parents and Scouts,

Tuesday is a special meeting called a Court of Honor.  This event is held in the FUMC Church and is a formal event where we recognize and celebrate the scout's achievements.  All parents and scouts are asked to attend.  Parents of scouts receiving advancement will be asked to accompany their scout to the stage.

Please wear complete Class A uniform, with OA and Merit Badge sashes.

SMILE - Scouts and parents, please stop by the photo station as you arrive.  As our unit has doubled in size, we would like to create a photo directory.

2020 Crew Planning Meeting - Tuesday June 11th

Posted on Jun 1 2019 - 10:25pm

Attention Eagle Scouts, Scouts 15 - 20, and current Venturing Crew Members.

The current Crew leadership asks that you attend a meeting to discuss the focus of Crew 777 next year.

Venturing is an extension of Troop 777 for older scouts; it is more focused on social activities than on advancement.

  • Home-room for older, accomplished youth that have completed their Troop Leadership requirements
  • Crew and Troop 777 are closely linked.  Scouts can be dual registration in both until 18th birthday
  • Scouts can continue to participate in Crew activities until 21st birthday
  • Meet on same night as Troop
  • Less structure, more freedom
  • Used to run activities of interest to older scouts, including high-adventures and social activities
  • Venturers wear a dark green uniform
Contact Delany, Emily, or Catriona for more info.

Campership Information

Posted on Apr 30 2019 - 1:41pm

Every scout should have the opportunity to experience summer camp, high adventures, or advanced leadership training.  There are several need-based campership programs that try to enable just that.   Each program has its own process and deadline (one is next week).  Unless the application states otherwise, the Scout family files the application directly with the campership program, after obtaining Scoutmaster signature.  Attached are the forms.
