Advancment Request

Posted on Jun 27 2019 - 9:12am

In the spirit of rank advancement and ensuring that we recognize our Scouts as quickly as possible we have a request from our Advancement Chair (Anne Felosak).  In the Troopmaster 2.0 software that we utilize to track rank advancement, each requirement towards rank (Tenderfoot 1a and 1b for example) the system is looking for a completed date.  Additionally, so that we do not have a rush of advancement updates in Troopmaster 2.0 when we return in September and to manage the growth of our Troop we are requesting the following so that we are being proactive….

Leadership Training for Older Scout Coming to Maybury in July

Posted on Jun 24 2019 - 10:10pm

This Fall, Venture Crew 777 will be expanded to become the home room for older Scouts to plan and run activities of interest to them.

Venturing is even more youth led than a Troop.  The youth leaders of local Crew 781 are offering Crew Leadership training on July 12-14 at Maybury.  This is a great opportunity to learn more about what a Crew does, hear about upcoming events, and make connections with other local Crews.  If you are a High School level Scout not attending Summer Camp, see the calendar event for more information.

This is a contingent event, so you can attend as an individual or group of Scouts.  Registration is directly with the event coordinator.

Kitchenware donations for patrol boxes

Posted on Jun 3 2019 - 9:32pm

The troop is planning to build an extra patrol box or two in time for summer camp.  In an effort to be environmentally friendly and re-use and recycle, the troop will first accept donations of larger stock pots and fry pans (10-12 inch) that you may not want or use in your own home.  Please note all items must be in good condition-- no rust, excessive scratches, etc.  The troop will also accept large spatulas, stirring spoons, cutting knives, etc., again, in good condition.  You can drop any patrol box donation off at one of the last two troop meetings.  Thank you.

SMILE - Scouts and parents, please stop by the photo station as you arrive.  As our unit has doubled in size, we would like to create a photo directory.
