Pig Roast Announced for Klondike. Final Patrol Planning This Tuesday - Last Chance to sign-up!

Posted on Jan 19 2015 - 2:07pm

Back again this year, the Klondike BBQ Pig Roast is going viral.  This year, we will share our bacon with Troop 103 (of Milford).  Each Patrol is bringing a dish to pass.  The adults cook the pig all day long so it's just right for when you finish the Klondike competition - you just need to bring home some hardware (awards)!

Tuesday's meeting includes: Personal pack inspection (bring your gear ready to go), Patrol food planning, polar bear planning.

Polar Bear campers tent on Friday night and move indoors on Saturday.  Cabin cots allocated based on order of paid registration.  If cots run out, you can bring your own cot or air matress; room will be available in the common area of the cabin.  Should be room for everyone!

D-Bar-A is plowing available snow into mounds so you can build Quinzhees for your Polar Bear shelter.  Friday night forecast looks great High 30's Low 20's.

Please, finalize your registration on-line now!

All Scouts - Bring Your Best Cold Weather Pack for Equipment Shakedown on Tuesday

Posted on Jan 14 2015 - 9:31am

Tuesday is a Troop-wide personal equipment shakedown.  Bring your pack ready for Klondike tent camping whether you are attending or not.  There will be a pack inspection with feedback on how you can be better prepared for camping outside in the cold.  The Patrol judged as being the best prepared will earn Honor Patrol points!  See checklist in library http://troop777northville.org/taxonomy/term/1080

Then, put your pack to the test and attend this year's Klondike Derby.  It is a great opportunity to learn how to be in the outdoors during cold weather.  These are critical skills you don't usually learn in school.
