The Scouts asked for more backpacking opportunities this year, and this weekend is our first.

In preparation for real backcountry trekking at Picture Rocks and Philmont, we will trek the Pinckney State Recreation hiking trails, staying at different sites each night.  If you are planning on Picture Rocks - this is one of the required conditioning events.

The Scouts will work on the following skills that count toward several merit badges:

• Hiking
• Camping
• Backpacking
• Cooking

 This is a backpacking outing, Scouts will need to carry their gear and a share of patrol food and equipment for approximately 17 miles over 3 days.  Pack light!

There are three treks available:

• 3 day trek - all Picture Rocks participants must attend Fri-Sun
• 2 day trek - join group on Saturday morning and camp 1 night
• Day Only trek - join group on Saturday morning and leave Saturday night from Munhacke

Our first Committee Meeting of the new year is on Monday, September 18, at 7:00 p.m.

We have our meeting in Room 4 of FUMC.  It's on the second floor.   All parents are invited to help make decsions for the troop.

Recharter Training will take place before the meeting from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

To pick-up Cub Scout handbooks, please arrive early, bring signed applications and a blank check.

Jacob is having his Eagle Scout Can Drive meeting for all who are interested. The meeting will take place on Saturday September 9th at 4:00. It will be at his house: 17490 Rolling Woods Circle.
