Troop 777 backpacking crews stormed the beaches of South Manitou Island while the Philmont crew trekked over 25 miles through the Potawatomi Trail in Pinckney.

Short-term backpacking helps prepare younger Scouts for high adventure treks by exposing them to survival skills and the patrol method of youth leadership.  This upcoming year will include more backpacking opportunities.

Wish the Philmont Crew 626-D-02 well as they leave next week for 12 days in the backcountry of New Mexico.

The next Troop outing is on June 13 - 16th to S. Manitou Island of the coast of northern lower Michigan peninsula.  Please have your permission slips turned in at the 5/27 meeting.  

Life Scout, Chad Quick, has been working very hard to plan this event.  It has been a big hit in the past. 

All Scout levels and alumni guests are encouraged to attend.

Summer Camp planning next week at meeting, includes picking merit badges and schedules.

If you are not attending summer camp, we are hiking to custard time.  Bring appropriate shoes, headlamp, backpack, and spending money.
