Campout Planning and Permission Slip Due Tuesday

Posted on Sep 8 2015 - 12:29am

Our first outing is less than a week away.  By request of the mighty Red Llamas, Mr. Koilpillai has found a BSA certified ropes course and instructor just south of the border.  We will start working on Climbing merit badge on Tuesday.  If you are planning to attend the Alaskan Adventure, you should attend this outing as you will need to learn these skills in preparation for glacier ice climbing.

A Scout is prepared, so we will spend the majority of our Tuesday meeting getting familiar with climbing knots and safety.

  • Collection of permission slip and registration fee  (click here)
  • Patrol food planning (backpack style meals)
  • Ideas on how to camp using a minimalist foot print
  • Climbing knots
  • Climb-on Safely highlights  (online class)
