Welcome to Scouts BSA Troop 777 - Programs for both Girls and Boys (Northville, MI)

   

Located in Northville, MI since 1999, we average between 50-80 co-ed Scouts.  

Meeting every Tuesday night during the school year at 7:30 pm (PLC starts at 7:00 pm) in the First United Methodist Church gym on 8 Mile Rd.

We offer traditional Scouts BSA program units for girls and boys ages 10-17 and a co-ed Venturing program for youth 14-20.

Our youth also run advancement assistance programs for area Webelos I and II Den Leaders.

Court of Honor and Troop Class B "Blues" Group Picture Tonight

Scouts,

Let's show off our new Class B shirts tonight.  Wear them under your Class A and after the CoH, let's get a group picture in the new "blues"

If you have not picked up / paid for your shirts, you can do so tonight.

Order of the Arrow members and Adults are needed as Staff to run transition stations on Saturday.   Please let us know if you can help by registering on the Staff calendar event and inidicate your position priorities.  We will feed you during the day.

BSA Swim Tests this Saturday

If you are attending any of the water related summer activities, you need an annual BSA Swim Test.

So, print out a permission slip and throw on your new Class B blues with some swim trunks then head over to Jake Tebbe's community pool this Saturday at 10:30 am.

Kristen and Peter Goodman Leading the Memorial Day Parade

The troop traditionally joins other troops in participating in the Northville Memorial Day Parade. 

The troop will need to carry both the Troop and US flags.  Scouts should be in full Class A uniform.  Starting location is the North/East side of race track parking lot at 9:30 am.

1st Year Scouts can earn credit toward their Second Class 1a requirement.  After the Parade, there is free ice cream at Casterline's.  Sign-up Here

Troop 777 NYLT Scholarship Available - Due May 24th

The Troop 777 Committee has approved one $112 scholarship for the 2016 National Youth Leadership Training program.  This is roughly 1/2 the registration cost. 

National Youth Leadership Training is an exciting, six-day course, action-packed program designed to provide youth members with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home troops and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others.

Scouts aspiring to become Senior Patrol Leader are encouraged to complete this course in the year prior to running.

Interested Scouts should read the attached requirements and submit the below application before the end of patrol meeting on May 24th. 

  • Minimum age 13
  • Minimum First Class Rank
  • Hold a Troop level leadership position (Preferred)
  • Active at meetings and campouts (>60%)
  • Have completed the Introduction to Leadership Skills training
  • Has not attended NYLT or held the SPL position previously
  • Scoutmaster Approval
