Be Part of the New Summit Leadership Program to Launch at Adventure Point

Posted on May 5 2020 - 9:50am

BSA is launching a new Leadership Experience at the Summit Bechtel Adventure Point!

It is available to young men and women entering their junior year of high school. Nominated by their school (teachers, principal, counselors, mentors), 40 students will be selected during the summer and will begin the program in August. Students will be taught technical leadership concepts, while also learning from leadership expertise in the community through direct interaction and on-site visits. Meeting monthly in teams, students will plan and execute a significant community service project to demonstrate their leadership abilities. The school year-long program will also offer a Leadership Retreat at Adventure Point and a Capstone High Adventure Trip to the Summit, WV at its conclusion. Nominations are open until July 1, 2020 and may be submitted on this website:  www.adventurepoint.org/leadership-programs/

Scouts world-wide have gone virtual in different ways.  Enjoy these Czech Scouts closing their virtual troop meeting singing taps. https://www.facebook.com/skaut/videos/240863127027155/

It hasn't been a year since we met our fellow Scouts from around the world at the World Jamboree.  While they showed us how much fun they can have, this reminds me how dynamic they are too.
