2023 Jamboree - Looking for More Adults

Posted on May 16 2022 - 11:28pm

Here is a great way for adults to attend the 2023 Jamboree.  While unit leader positions are full, there are a list of adult Jamboree Service Team (or JST) positions available.

JST are volunteers from around the country that run the adventures; there is no adventure of a lifetime for our youth without JST.  Since Michigan will likely have one of the largest contingents, and 777 currently has more youth registered than any single District across the state, let's make sure our youth are well supported.

See this link for adult JST positions and registration (and add your name to our Jambo calendar event to let us know you registered) -  https://jamboree.scouting.org/jamboree-service-team/

2023 Jamboree Trip - Recruit a Youth, Earn a Patch Set Incentive is On!

Posted on Jun 3 2022 - 8:02pm

Now until August 31, 2022 - Recruit a Friend and Receive a Patch Set

For every Scout or Venturer that you recruit, the MCC Jambo Committee will issue you a set of MCC Jamboree contingent patches (2017 example seen here).  The top recruiter will receive five sets of patches.  The rules are simple.  You need to fully registered for Jamboree, then send a note to: jamboreechair@michiganscouting.org , with the name(s) of the Scout(s) or Venturer(s) that you recruited to the Michigan Crossroads Council contingent no later than August 31, 2022.  Once verified that the Scout(s) or Venturer(s) has/have registered on the MCC website and made Jamboree payments through August 31, 2022.  Each recruited Scout or Venturer can have only one recruiter.  Duplicate entries will be reviewed to confirm the earliest submission date.  In addition, you cannot claim to recruit Scouts or Venturers that are already registered with MCC.  Hit 777 Scouts - see our calendar event to see who has not signed up yet - and recruit!!

777 Alumni - Where are they now?

Posted on Jul 31 2018 - 10:24pm

Troop 777 Alumni Aaron Gierlach and his dad Ray (who was an Asst. Scoutmaster) live in Colorado Springs, CO now.  Recently, they were in town and stopped by Mr. Tischler's house to donate some gear and give us a quick update on the impact 777 had and what they have been up to since.

777 says "good bye" to Ken Jacobsen, past 777 Chartered Org Rep

Posted on Apr 9 2019 - 2:12am

Ken Jacobsen was a long-time Scouter in Northville.  He passed his love for Scouting on to his Eagle Scout son, whom has also stayed engaged in Scouting.

Ken was a member of the FUMC Men's Club and was our Chartered Organized Representative until 2014.

Proir to that, Ken was very involved with Troop 755 and was responsible for the purchase of the 755 canoes that 777 uses frequently.

Ken passed away on Monday, March 25, 2019

Thursday, April 11 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Casterline Funeral Home in Northville

Friday, April 12 at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church of Northville

A luncheon will follow the service at the church.

777 Training for Adult Leaders - registration open

Posted on Mar 12 2019 - 7:06am

Parents, we are  encouraging everyone who is attending camp outs or summer camp to take this course.   While it is required for all assistant scoutmaster’s it would be good for committee members to understand the patrol method as well.

Eric  Brown will be teaching the scoutmaster specific training course on March 23 at FUMC  from noon to 430.

Please register on our website as soon as possible as space is limited and we may be opening this up to other area units  next week.  https://www.troop777northville.org/node/3463
